What is Tekkit?

Tekkit is a modpack released by the Technic platform. It's a simple way to play with some of the greatest mods available without having to mess around with copying files or installing code.

I've spent the last few days devoted to adding the Tekkit Classic blocks to the overviewer code. I think I'm slowly going crazy from constantly repeating the process of finding textures and matching block ids and data values. Confused

It's far from complete but good progress is being made and a lot of blocks have been added already.
Once overviewer is rendering tekkit classic worlds, I'll be posting the code on github and adding the option to the render queue.
Another update for you all. Tekkit Classic progress is still moving forward but I want to finish adding a few more blocks prior to adding it to the render process and moving on the Tekkit Lite and other mods (Voltz, FTB, etc)

Here's an update on the Tekkit Lite progress for anyone who is interested. Progress is moving along nicely Smile

Added support for Hack/Mine. That was a fairly easy one which was a nice change.
FTB? I think its actually more popular than Tekkit now. And I'm not completely sure this will help you, but inside the .minecraft folder for Tekkit and FTB is a text file containing the data values/block ids for all of the items/blocks.

FTB is on the list. Gonna be a big animal because there is so many different mod packs there though.

What text file has the block ids? That would be helpful for sure but at first glance I don't see it.
Its a config file. You want it for FTB right? Because you're done with Tekkit.
Edit: Looks like they are organised per mod. If you are doing it for the Mindcrack pack: "%your_directory%\Mindcrack\minecraft\config" will have all of the config files. Inside of those are the default block and item ids. Use Notepad++ to open them. Looks like it only gives you the number before the colon. So machines in GregTech are 702:?
From the IC2 config:
####################
# block
####################

block {
I:blockAlloy=600
I:blockAlloyGlass=601
I:blockBarrel=602
I:blockCable=603
I:blockCrop=604
I:blockDoorAlloy=605
I:blockDynamite=606

I:blockLuminator=615

I:blockMachine=617
I:blockMachine2=618
I:blockMetal=619
I:blockMiningPipe=620

I:blockNuke=622
I:blockOreCopper=247

I:blockRubLeaves=625
I:blockRubSapling=626
I:blockRubWood=627
I:blockRubber=628
I:blockScaffold=629
I:blockWall=630
Interesting. I had glanced at these config files but didn't realize the ids were located in there. This will def speed up work on adding FTB support.

Thanks larper! Big Grin
