Since I'm going through the rendering issue, I figured it would be a good time to post the new beta version of the website.

New Features:
  • Responsive design - break out your tablets and smartphones
  • Who's online avatars in the header
  • Featured map on the homepage
  • Improvements to BBCode editor - urls are now auto-linked and misc bug fixes
  • Download restrictions removed for owners - always have access to your own worlds even if you turn off downloading for other users
  • Your specific user page can have a randomly displayed featured world
  • Set a default zoom position for your maps so when people visit your world they see the best part that you want to highlight

It still has some kinks that need to be worked out so don't expect a perfect experience but it's open for testing. Please post any issues you encounter or further suggestions on this thread - especially device specific (phones, tablets, toasters, etc).

Check it out at http://beta.minecraftworldmap.com

*You may need to logout and log back in to get the beta site to recognize your credentials

hi,
i've added some screenshots from my moto g.
this is all about the mobile version:
the navigation pull down things on top look really messy. the left one with links to your other website disappears behind the map.
fullscreen gives internal server error. same with link to your own profile (or it's only me)
advertisements look strange, maybe elements with little hight are better.
world upload: the "choose archive" button is missing (flash). when disabling
Javascript, the button will appear, but pressing
upload" won't do anything. no need for recent posts and comments at upload page.

Mobile display glitches for my Dell Venue 8 Tablet

Images are overstretched. (Displays in Portrait and Landscape - Queue Only)

Ad Placement - 3 ads on top of each other (Displays in Portrait and Landscape - All Pages)
Ad placement on all platforms (PC, Mac, Linux, Tablets, Android, and iOS - All Tested) are all weirdly placed and are not the most attractive.

Navigation Bar out of Alignment (Displays in Landscape Only - All Pages)

Other sites navigation bar out of alignment and does not display all selections. (Displays in Landscape Only - All Pages)

Has anyone noticed any problems with viewing maps on the new Beta site where it functions fine on the current site?

These are some screenshots from my PC, Samsung Galaxy Tab, and iPhone 4. I'll test it on some other devices when I can as well. Everything seems to be running fine however the "Full Screen" view option does not work on any platform. Other than this I couldn't find any problems. Seems to be working well!
Something else I discovered, not sure if this was intentional or not, when on the main page (http://beta.minecraftworldmap.com/) the sections under the featured map repeat.

First section: "Recent World Comments" GREEN BACKGROUND
Second section: "Recent Forum Posts" BLUE BACKGROUND
Third section: "Recent Comments" GREEN BACKGROUND
Fourth section: "Recent Posts" BLUE BACKGROUND

The sections display essentially the same information regardless. 1st and 2nd sections have larger fonts than the 3rd and 4th. The 3rd and 4th sections also display less updates than the first two.

Hi,

I see that you added the sponsored link on the beta site! Thank you!

I'm just wondering if the clicks add to the download count, because it doesn't seem to and I think it should Smile

Keep up the good work!

Also why can't I choose just the sponsored link as the download option, because no one chooses it otherwise.
