I've been working on expanding the mapping system to include a Blockview of your Minecraft worlds.  It's like Street View for Minecraft worlds.

Yes, Minecraft in your browser!
I've setup my test world as a beta for this.  Help me test this new feature and report how it works for you on this post.

http://www.minecraftworldmap.com/worlds/vxm4k/voxel

Controls:
  • W,A,S,D - Move
  • Mouse - Camera
  • Left/Right Click - Break blocks
  • Space - Jump
  • Double Tap Space - Toggle Fly Mode
  • Space (while flying) - Ascend
  • Shift (while flying) - Descend
  • F1 - Toggle Help
  • F3 - Toggle 1st/3rd person
  • F5 - Toggle Minimap
  • ESC - Release mouse control
When reporting:
  • Include what happened
  • Browser you were using with version if you know it
  • Rough computer specs would be helpful if you know them (for example; i7/16GB RAM/GTX960)

Thanks to the amazing group over at voxel.js!  Without their efforts none of this would be possible.

Did it end up crashing on you or was did it just lag to the point where it was unplayable?

Signs, rails, levers, etc. are opaque blocks with the texture on its sides. Certainly it can't render their position sans-text at least? Also had a crash (64-bit Chrome 53 beta, Windows 10 14393.67, Intel Core i5 480M, Radeon 5650M, Radeon Settings 16.2.1, 6 GB DDR3 RAM). Other than that and Steve's obvious use of steroids (he doesn't jump that far), it's great.
Edit: It crashes when you leave the page alone for a while.

Like Vincent294 wrote, everything, that's not a simple block is rendered weird. Water is not textured correctly. Chunk render order is bad - they render randomly.

Anyway, really good so far Smile
Keep up good work.

(A little suggestion: I think it would be good, if we could restore map without refreshing the page, and continue exploring from there.)

Is this going to be a feature for premium users?

This feature is best between simple renders.
I saw more render programms, but I didn't saw analogy with minecraft render in browser.
Good job! I have not ever crashes in browser, seriously!

Yes, there are a number of special blocks that need some attention as well as a number of blocks that simply don't show up.  This needs to be fixed.  It's important to note that I'm not trying to recreate the game but give a bit of a preview so I'm not sure that it will ever be perfect, but I'd like to get it as close as possible.  I agree that there needs to be a better way to move around - teleporting maybe...

Well, *ahem*, it's a little better than street view so ...  Wink

I don't see this being restricted to premium users although premium users maps will be a priority as this starts to roll out to more worlds.  More as a thanks for the support that they have provided to keep the site running.
