Mattupolis is a Pacific Northwest -themed city, based mostly on Vancouver, BC and Seattle, WA. My goal is to create a modern, realistic and somewhat interesting city environment along with its surroundings and not just a bunch of skyscrapers with roads randomly scattered about.
So far there are 150+ high-rises with more coming up fast, an observation tower based on Seattle's Space Needle, a large urban park with pristine nature right next to the ocean, a huge multi-purpose arena, at least one Tim Hortons or Starbucks per block, a dam and a convention center, only to name a few. As for infrastructure, the city boasts an extensive freeway system, the most integral part of it being the Mattupolis Beltway. An airport is in the plans. Since New York City was my initial inspiration, the very center of Downtown is loosely based on Times Square.

I do use WorldPainter to generate new terrain. The thing is, I originally started out on a vanilla map way before software like that existed.

The version you downloaded from Planet Minecraft is the latest public update. What you see here is what I'm currently working on. It has unfinished sections and buildings, so it's not exactly a map I'd share for everyone to play.
However, I do plan to release the next public update sometime in December.
